It sits in Rockingham County between Exeter, East Kingston, Newton, Plaistow, Hampstead, Danville, Fremont and Brentwood. Homes for sale in Kingston NH range from the historic town center around the Plains to West Kingston near Great Pond, with Kingston State Park and the Powwow River among the town's landmarks.

Living in Kingston, NH

The Kingston historic district covers the town center and includes the town hall, the 1774 Josiah Bartlett House, home of the second signer of the Declaration of Independence, and the Plains Cemetery where he is buried. Also in the district are the Sanborn Seminary of 1883, the 1898 Nichols Memorial Library, now a research library, and the Kingston Historical Museum in the town's first fire house. West Kingston, southwest of Great Pond on the road to Danville, was once a charcoal-making center that shipped by wagon to Haverhill, Lawrence and Newburyport. Most of the town drains to the Powwow River, a Merrimack tributary, while the north drains to the Little River. Rock Rimmon Hill, at about 350 feet on the Danville line, is the high point. Kingston Days, held the first weekend of August, marks the town's 1694 founding with music, a flea market and car and motorcycle shows.
