Welcome to Dublin

Dublin climbs the northern slopes of Mount Monadnock in eastern Cheshire County, between Harrisville, Peterborough, Jaffrey and Marlborough. New Hampshire Route 101 crosses it east to west and Route 137 runs north to Hancock and south to Jaffrey. The town is home to Dublin School and Yankee magazine. Dublin NH real estate takes in hillside land with views of the mountain and the shores of Dublin Pond, once called Monadnock Lake.

Living in Dublin, NH

The northern slopes of Mount Monadnock fill the southern part of Dublin, and the town's highest point, 2,834 feet, lies on the mountain's northeastern ridge at the town line. Dublin straddles a watershed divide: the western half drains through tributaries of the Ashuelot River to the Connecticut, and the eastern half through tributaries of the Contoocook to the Merrimack. Ponds include Dublin Pond, Farnum (Dark) Pond and Wight Pond, plus the Howe, Knight and Electric Company reservoirs. From the surface of Dublin Pond the summit and northwestern sides of Monadnock are visible, and at the right hour on the right kind of day the mountain is reflected in the water. Early farmers worked hard, rocky soil and kept orchards. Dublin's architecture includes Federal-style houses, with fan details credited to carpenter and town moderator Rufus Piper.
