Welcome to Grantham

Grantham sits in northern Sullivan County where Interstate 89 crosses between Lebanon and Concord, with exits 13 and 14 inside town. Enfield, Springfield, Croydon and Plainfield surround it, and the ridge of Croydon Mountain runs along its western edge. The town is best known for Eastman, a planned community built around Eastman Pond. Grantham NH real estate spans that lake community, the village center along Route 10 and wooded hillsides draining to the North Branch of the Sugar River.

Living in Grantham, NH

Eastman Pond, at the head of Eastman Brook in the eastern part of town, is the focal point of the Eastman planned community. Anderson Pond and Butternut Pond are Grantham's other ponds, and Sawyer, Stocker and Eastman brooks feed the North Branch Sugar River, which drains the town into the Connecticut River watershed. Grantham Mountain, at 2,660 feet, is the highest point, a peak along the Croydon Mountain ridge on the western border. Route 10 meets I-89 at Exit 13 near the center of town and runs south to Newport, the county seat. Exit 14 is at the northern town line. In the village, Dunbar Free Library has served the town since 1903, and Grantham Village School opened in 1981. Hills in town carry the names of the Howe, Dunbar and Leavitt families, early settlers who received land under the 1761 charter.
