Welcome to Merrimack

Merrimack stretches along the west bank of the Merrimack River in Hillsborough County, between Nashua to the south and Bedford and Manchester to the north and northeast. The Souhegan River roughly cuts it in half, and the Everett Turnpike and Daniel Webster Highway (US Route 3) run its length. Merrimack NH real estate is spread across former villages such as Reeds Ferry, Thorntons Ferry and South Merrimack, with Naticook and Baboosic lakes inside town lines.

Living in Merrimack, NH

Merrimack grew from four villages whose edges have blurred with suburban growth. Reeds Ferry, in the north, centers on Bedford Road and Daniel Webster Highway, and the area toward Baboosic Lake lies in the northwest. Thorntons Ferry, near Naticook Lake and Continental Boulevard, takes its name from Matthew Thornton, a signer of the Declaration of Independence who lived here; the Signer's House and Matthew Thornton Cemetery remain. South Merrimack centers on Pennichuck Square at Route 101A, with Harris Pond in the southeast. Merrimack Village, along the Souhegan River near the public library at Baboosic Lake Road, holds the town hall and the high school. The Anheuser-Busch brewery, open since 1970, offers tours and keeps one of the stables for the Budweiser Clydesdales, and its grounds host an annual ribfest. The Merrimack Premium Outlets sit off Exit 10 of the Everett Turnpike, and Thomas More College of Liberal Arts is in town.
