Welcome to Lisbon

Lisbon, New Hampshire is a town in Grafton County drained by the Ammonoosuc River and its tributary, the Gale River. The main village sits in the town's southwestern corner along U.S. Route 302, beside the Ammonoosuc, and the town also includes the villages of Barrett and Savageville. Its neighbors are Lyman, Littleton, Bethlehem, Sugar Hill, Bath and Landaff, and Lisbon NH real estate ranges from village homes to rural hill land.

Living in Lisbon, NH

The town of Lisbon, NH grew on the water power of the Ammonoosuc's falls, which drove mills and factories; the Parker Young Company was at one time the largest maker of piano sounding boards in the world. Charcoal-making was an early industry, and iron, gold and other minerals were mined here. The town was the site of the first rope ski tow in New Hampshire, and today it holds an annual lilac festival on Memorial Day weekend. The main village lines U.S. Route 302 along the river, with the Old Lisbon Town Hall as a landmark, and the Lisbon Area Historical Society covers the history of Lisbon, Landaff and Lyman. Pearl Lake lies just west of the town's highest hill.
